Get your hands dirty.

Private pottery lessons are aimed at anyone that wants to learn the essential techniques of wheel throwing. From complete beginners with no previous experience to intermediate potters that wish to improve their skills.

 

Each lesson is two hours long, for both one time and the four lesson package.

 

You will learn:

• How to prepare clay for the wheel

• How to center clay on the wheel

• How to enter and open the clay

• How to throw a pot

 

If you choose to go for the 4 lessons package, other than throwing you will also learn how to trim your pots and finish them. Lessons will be held weekly.

 

In all cases, whatever pots you produce I will fire and glaze for you. You will have a choice of colour from my current glaze range.

 

Once your pots are finished you can collect them from the studio or if you prefer, we can arrange shipping, the cost of which will be charged separately.

I hold the lessons at my studio in Mosgiel, Dunedin. The day and time of the lessons will be arranged with the student after purchase. I'll get in touch via email and we can arrange a time that suits us both.
